Have Fun

FUN is being in the pursuit of joy!  We get so caught in life and all of our responsibilities that we simply forget to have fun. We also get consumed with the work part of life that we forget to play.  We must remember life is a game.    Once you realize that there is more to life than working and taking on too many responsibilities, life takes on a new meaning.  Fun gives you a new outlook, something to look forward to. It keeps you youthful and vibrant.  Fun is absolutely free.  Give yourself permission to have fun.  It’s the weekend find something fun to do today and share back with us, remember you’re helping somebody.  Cheers!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Friday, October 9th, 2009

We must do more than think pink this October.  The statistics can be very disheartening, while Black women are less likely to get breast cancer; they’re more likely to die from it. Obesity is the second leading contributing factor after tobacco. Some studies showed that women of 40 don’t even remember when their last mammogram was.  Some experts are now recommending women have their first mammogram before 40 and possibly as early as 33 this according to a recent study published in the Journal of American College of Surgeons. To find a center near you please visit Cancer.org.  If you haven’t schedule your first or next mammogram please take time to do so.

Some small things that will help you stay healthy; walking one to two hours weekly cuts your breast cancer risk by 18 to 20 percent.  Eating smart, research shows that that the greater variety of fruits and vegetables you eat, the more phytonutrients you consume.  Remember to do monthly breast exams, for more information on this please visit ww5.komen.org/bse/bse.html for a how-to-video.  For more information regarding Breast Cancer please visit www.BCRFCURE.ORG.

Cheers to staying healthy!

Honoring Yourself

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Acknowledge what you feel, what you want and believe.  When we don’t we are dishonoring ourselves by not telling the truth.  When we lie to ourselves about what we need, feel want and believe eventually we will lie to others about the same things.  When we don’t honor ourselves in truth it eventually impacts every area of our lives, it can quickly turn into anger, resentment and rage.  Trying to please everyone does not work especially when we are not honoring what we believe and trusting our hearts to the very core of our being.

Today, let us know how you’re honoring yourself for the fabulous person you are!  You deserve it!   Remember you are helping somebody.  Cheers to you!

Look for the lesson, and learn

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

I have always been one to ask God not to let me continue to experience the same lessons over and over.  I have always prayed that I learn the lesson he intended for me the first time, so that I am not a repeat offender, so to speak.  I realize “there’s always a lesson, often one we’ve avoided or won’t learn any other way,” except through our experiences.  Try to find something meaningful or useful during negative situations try not to focus on the negatives but how we can turn not so good situations into positives.  We learn new lessons everyday by just simply living life.

Share with us lessons you’ve learned and how you have turned negative situations or issues into positives, remember you’re helping somebody.  Cheers!

Just Listen

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

We all have an inner voice and it speaks truth to power and negativity.  The hard part is just simply listening.  Ask yourself why are you here and what are you doing and then seek ways to make things happen.  Many times we trade who we want to be for what we want to have and then we lose ourselves in the process.  Surround yourself with people and environments that echo the truth, your truth.  Be grateful for all that has happened and learn from it.  Forgive and let it go.  Forgiveness is not about letting someone else off the hook but ultimately it’s about getting you off one.

Share with us how listening to your inner spirit has helped you.  Remember you’re helping somebody.  Cheers!

It’s Fall

Monday, October 5th, 2009

Fall represents a time to return to our roots.  A time and season to allow ourselves time to rest and replenish.  Fall is a time to bundle up and stay warm.  It’s time to relax, feel grounded, whole & happy.  Stillness is awesome, sometimes we need time to sit and listen to our hearts.  Take a moment to share what “Fall” means to  you.  Remember you’re helping somebody!  Cheers to Fall….

Trust

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

First of all there is a huge difference in trusting somebody and putting your trust in them.  When you trust someone, you see them is the highest light, believing that no matter what they do, it does not change who they are at the core of their being.  Neither can anything that happens to you change who you are at the core of your being.

When you trust someone it means that you expect them to do what they say and say what they mean.  Trusting in someone usually means that there is something they have that you feel you need, or something you have that you believe they can take from you.

Trust is not something people earn from us.  Nor is it something we give to others who have not proven themselves worthy.  Trust is divine, a given we inherent in our soul.  You either trust or you don’t, there’s no in-between.  Trust that what your heart tells you is true!  Share your comments on “trust” remember you’re helping somebody.  Cheers

“You”

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

If you want to experience true beauty, real and complete perfection, all you have to do is look in the mirror.  No one is more beautiful than you are at this moment.  You don’t have to do anything or try to be like anyone else.  Your name and face don’t have to be recognized by people.  Just be who you are.  When we truly able to accept ourselves, it lets us, and all the people close to us who we’ve made miserable because we’ve judged ourselves so harshly, off the hook.  We feel happy, whole and confident just being.   Let everyone know what being the fabulous “you” feels like, remember you’re helping somebody.  Cheers to YOU!
