Inspired!

Sunday, March 24th, 2013

I’m a huge believer that every one of us has the inner strength to take on life’s many challenges and to be successful.   One saying that resonates with me on today is simply “Life will not put more on us that we are not able to handle.”

Remember when you are faced with disappointment and when you become discouraged, and start thinking you’re unable to achieve a goal, remember!  You can do it. You can achieve it, think positively and make it happen!

Stay inspired, Cheers!

A Beautiful You!

Sunday, March 17th, 2013

How to be more beautiful…it’s something we all wonder about at some point or other. But most of us eventually learn that expensive clothes and designer shoes are not the key to inner beauty.

The fact is, they’re not even essential for looking beautiful.

You’ve heard it all of your life, right? Well now is the time to put it into practice. The more beautiful you feel inside the more you exude beauty on the outside. Ready?

Here are a few simple steps to finding a more beautiful you.

Turn off the ringer on your phone. Turn off the TV or radio.

Start by selecting a relaxing room or area of your home. If possible, add a vase or basket of fresh cut flowers to help set the mood. Choose a comfortable seat on a chair, sofa or chaise lounge.

Just sit for a moment or two and take in the serenity of the silence. Now, lie back and relax into a comfortable position and close your eyes. Inhale deeply. Exhale slowly. Repeat.

Empty your mind of all negative thoughts about yourself. An easy method to do this is, for each negative thought that occurs to you imagine it being captured inside of a pretty pink bubble before gracefully floating away. Inhale deeply. Exhale slowly. Repeat.

As you continue to allow your negative thoughts to float away, accentuate your positive thoughts. Imagine a tiny bud slowly beginning to blossom into a beautiful flower inside of you. A powerful red, a sensuous blue, or maybe a mixture of exciting neon colors…the specific details are all up to you. Embrace your beauty!

Imagine your flower beginning to exude the most beautiful scent! Relax as the scent slowly begins to fill your entire body from head to toe.

Now inhale the fragrance of your inner flower. Exhale and visualize yourself perfuming the world with your winsome scent and spreading you beauty all around.

Next, visualize yourself sitting quietly inside of your freshly blossomed flower. Imagine your inner diva bathed in the beautiful color and scent of your flower. Take notice and admire the positive and beautiful qualities of your tiny inner-twin.

Create your own mantra or, use this one. “I am radiantly beautiful, vibrantly healthy and filled with divine light & love and I love myself.” Repeat as much as you need to.  But, you must believe this.

Relax for a few moments in the contentment and happiness you’ve just created within yourself.

Throughout the day, repeat your mantra and recall the scent and color of your personal flower. Carry the feeling with you throughout the day. As you go about your day, you’ll be amazed at how many people will comment or compliment you on how beautiful you are.

Repeat this process several times a week and you should ignite in your beauty as only you can.  Cheers!

Loving your body!

Monday, March 11th, 2013

You know the one God blessed you with!  Life is too short; why spend time hating on your body?  Learn to accept your body and embrace yourself from head to toe.  Some reasons are: Your body is unique; No one else has the same one.  No matter how bad you treat it, it’s willing to give you another chance. It’s expressive, in telling you how it feels (pay attention) and telling others how you feel about it as well. Because somebody out there (or somebody’s) admires and adores it.  You’ll regret not loving your body and taking care of it later.  Take time and love yourself, all of you!!!  Remember confidence is pretty sexy.

Make a commitment to take care of your body and practice self-acceptance.  Remember you only get one.  Cheers to the beautiful person you are!

Get Ready!

Wednesday, March 6th, 2013

As we approach a season of spring, let’s take a look at fresh clean starts and good decisions.

One of those decisions could surround forgiveness. The dictionary defines forgiveness as the process of concluding resentment, indignation or anger as a result of a perceived offense, difference or mistake, and/or ceasing to demand punishment or restitution. Giving forgiveness can take work.

1 –Define your emotion. Know exactly how you feel about what happened and be able to articulate what about the situation is not OK.
2- Decide your action. Make a commitment to yourself to do what you have to do to feel better. Forgiveness is for you and not for anyone else.

3- Know that forgiving is not condoning. Forgiveness does not necessarily mean reconciliation with the person that hurt you, or condoning of their action. What you are after is to find peace. Forgiveness can be defined as the “peace and understanding that come from blaming that which has hurt you less, taking the life experience less personally, and changing your un-pleasant story.”

4- Understand what is happening or has happened. Get the right perspective on what is happening. Recognize that your primary distress is coming from the hurt feelings, thoughts and physical upset you are suffering now, not what offended you or hurt you two minutes – or ten years – ago. Forgiveness helps to heal those hurt feelings.

5- Manage your reaction. At the moment you feel upset practice a simple stress management technique to release you mind, body and soul from the events that caused you hurt and pain.  Don’t allow the situation or person to get a negative reaction from you.

6- Understand that you can control only you. Give up expecting things from other people, or your life, that they do not choose to give you. Recognize the “unenforceable rules” you have for your health or how you or other people must behave. Remind yourself that you can hope for health, love, peace and prosperity and work hard to get them.

7- Stop replaying it in your mind. Put your energy into looking for another way to get your positive goals met than through the experience that has hurt you. Instead of mentally replaying your hurt seek out new ways to get what you want.  You must own this!

8- Move forward in life and don’t dwell on the past. Remember that a life well lived is your best revenge. Instead of focusing on your wounded feelings, and thereby giving the person who caused you pain power over you, learn to look for the love, beauty and kindness around you. Forgiveness is about personal power, not giving the other person or situation any power.

Remember if you are looking ahead you can see where you are going some people just will not be on the journey with you.  It’s okay to forgive and move on and leave people where they are so that you can remain focused on a better YOU!  Cheers.
