Happy New Year’s!

Monday, December 30th, 2013

Start 20 14 living your life like nobody is watching you. Live beyond expectations. Live beyond what you have been told is right, wrong, good or bad. Just for once, live like you are totally free to be anything and do anything you choose for yourself. Allow yourself the freedom of talking to yourself, dreaming for yourself, dancing with yourself and living your life like nobody else in the world cares or is watching what you are doing. Simply living YOUR life!

The only walls in your life are the ones that you have built yourself. Clear your mind of clutter, congestion and conflict. Free your mind of unproductive, draining relationships, nonessential thoughts about yourself and your life.

Changing your life does not always mean that you stop doing certain things. It may mean that you start doing certain other things. What you really want to do is nurture the attitude that you are open to learning more about yourself. Accepting more about yourself. This is what will inspire you to do something new.  After all it’s a new year, don’t pack up 2013 and take it into 2014 with you, remember some people and situations are not meant to be on your 2014 journey, you deserve better.  All the best in 2014!  Cheers.

HAPPINESS

Sunday, December 15th, 2013

Happiness is life’s most cherished goal. On every continent, in every country and in every culture, when people are asked, “What do you want?” the most popular answer is “happiness.” Happiness is the goal that makes other life goals like success, prosperity and relationships feel meaningful and enjoyable.

It’s official—the pursuit of happiness has sped up! We are chasing after happiness faster than ever. And the faster we run, the longer the race becomes.

Why does happiness seem so out of reach sometimes? Given the inalienable, constitutional right to pursue our own happiness, we wonder where we’re supposed to pursue it, and what, precisely, we have a right to. When does my happiness become your pain? Is happiness a fate or a choice, and what makes us happy, if we’re honest? Finally, in a world with so much upheaval, uncertainty, struggle, and injustice, how can we be deeply happy? What definition of happiness is large enough to contain all that?

At the end of the day it is our responsibility to determine what makes us happy, what keeps us happy and how we embrace happiness every single day!  It’s a choice, and it’s your choice.  Cheers!

Apologies

Sunday, December 1st, 2013

Apologies are less about hearing the words “I’m sorry” than making sure someone understands the impact his or her actions.  Before you say anything acknowledge that the other person may not have meant to hurt or upset you.  If you are carrying some responsibility however small, that will put you in a better frame of mind when you approach the other person.  Accept your part of the situation.  Do not play the blame game, just own your stuff.

Email is off-limits if you are offering an apology; you should arrange a time for a real conversation, ideally in person, and if that’s absolutely not possible, over the phone.  As with most sticky subjects and situations, you want to avoid the word “you” in favor of “I”.

Remember that you may not hear the magic words “I’m sorry”.  And that’s okay, what all of us really want in these situations is to be heard and understood and to close the conversation with some sort of plan for not repeating the incident or situation.  We must always be willing to accept that the other person may not be mature enough to embrace their role in the situation.  Don’t hold out waiting for the apology, move on and accept that person for who and what they are.  Cheers!
