Your Spirit

February 16th, 2014

When you are feeling down, celebrate your spirit. The essence of life in your body, celebrating your spirit, is celebrating life. The ability to have, to be, and to do is imbedded in your spirit. In this life, we are bound to earth by the physical body.

Sometimes it’s got to get worse before it gets better. Sometimes it is not until the muck and mire are so deep, so thick, that we realize there has got to be a change. As long as we have little problems, we are willing and able to maneuver our way around. When the challenges are small, we can find a quick fix without realizing there is a deeper problem, a bigger issue which requires healing.

Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. What a wonderful gift of life. Inhale. Exhale. The beginning and the end. Inhale peace, exhale confusion. Inhale faith, exhale worry. Inhale love, exhale anger. Breath is the gift of grace. As long as we have it, we have the divine opportunity to go it again.  Cheers to your spirit!

Time for YOU!

February 9th, 2014

There is a very sacred sweetness about being alone. When you are alone with yourself, you become sensitive to and familiar with your own voice. You learn to appreciate quiet times with you. When you are alone, you can pamper yourself and be extravagant with yourself.

When you get the urge to stay home, be alone, pull back, or shut down, it is probably your spirit urging you to take a rest. Do not ignore it! Honor yourself by taking some time out. Take a day away. There may be something very important going on within you that you need to know about. You must get quiet in order to hear it.  Making time for you is good for the soul!  Cheers to YOU!

NOT THIS YEAR!

January 12th, 2014

NOT THIS YEAR!

We must forgive others for what they have done and what we think they have done to us. We must also forgive ourselves for the things we have done to ourselves and others. If we do not forgive, the barnacles of the past hang onto our minds and hearts.  When you forgive don’t worry about the other person they must deal with their own issues of forgiveness on their own terms.  Just worry about YOU!

When we find ourselves in the same situation repeatedly as a result of our conditioned responses, we must stop and do a new thing. The situation may look different but they may feel the same. The route we take there may be altogether different. The lesson we must learn does not change. Get honest! Pay attention! Change what you do to create a change for yourself!  When you change others will know.

Every experience, no matter how painful, is an opportunity to learn. At times, we learn about ourselves. In other instances, we learn about others. In the midst of the most difficult lesson, we learn the tenacity of spirit and how far it will take us.  I have learned some new lessons about this thing called life and I must embrace them and take my courage and move on!  Cheers to embracing NEW THINGS IN 2014!

Happy New Year’s!

December 30th, 2013

Start 20 14 living your life like nobody is watching you. Live beyond expectations. Live beyond what you have been told is right, wrong, good or bad. Just for once, live like you are totally free to be anything and do anything you choose for yourself. Allow yourself the freedom of talking to yourself, dreaming for yourself, dancing with yourself and living your life like nobody else in the world cares or is watching what you are doing. Simply living YOUR life!

The only walls in your life are the ones that you have built yourself. Clear your mind of clutter, congestion and conflict. Free your mind of unproductive, draining relationships, nonessential thoughts about yourself and your life.

Changing your life does not always mean that you stop doing certain things. It may mean that you start doing certain other things. What you really want to do is nurture the attitude that you are open to learning more about yourself. Accepting more about yourself. This is what will inspire you to do something new.  After all it’s a new year, don’t pack up 2013 and take it into 2014 with you, remember some people and situations are not meant to be on your 2014 journey, you deserve better.  All the best in 2014!  Cheers.

HAPPINESS

December 15th, 2013

Happiness is life’s most cherished goal. On every continent, in every country and in every culture, when people are asked, “What do you want?” the most popular answer is “happiness.” Happiness is the goal that makes other life goals like success, prosperity and relationships feel meaningful and enjoyable.

It’s official—the pursuit of happiness has sped up! We are chasing after happiness faster than ever. And the faster we run, the longer the race becomes.

Why does happiness seem so out of reach sometimes? Given the inalienable, constitutional right to pursue our own happiness, we wonder where we’re supposed to pursue it, and what, precisely, we have a right to. When does my happiness become your pain? Is happiness a fate or a choice, and what makes us happy, if we’re honest? Finally, in a world with so much upheaval, uncertainty, struggle, and injustice, how can we be deeply happy? What definition of happiness is large enough to contain all that?

At the end of the day it is our responsibility to determine what makes us happy, what keeps us happy and how we embrace happiness every single day!  It’s a choice, and it’s your choice.  Cheers!

Apologies

December 1st, 2013

Apologies are less about hearing the words “I’m sorry” than making sure someone understands the impact his or her actions.  Before you say anything acknowledge that the other person may not have meant to hurt or upset you.  If you are carrying some responsibility however small, that will put you in a better frame of mind when you approach the other person.  Accept your part of the situation.  Do not play the blame game, just own your stuff.

Email is off-limits if you are offering an apology; you should arrange a time for a real conversation, ideally in person, and if that’s absolutely not possible, over the phone.  As with most sticky subjects and situations, you want to avoid the word “you” in favor of “I”.

Remember that you may not hear the magic words “I’m sorry”.  And that’s okay, what all of us really want in these situations is to be heard and understood and to close the conversation with some sort of plan for not repeating the incident or situation.  We must always be willing to accept that the other person may not be mature enough to embrace their role in the situation.  Don’t hold out waiting for the apology, move on and accept that person for who and what they are.  Cheers!

Challenge

Honoring Yourself

November 10th, 2013

You can fight your way into or out of any situation or you can love yourself into and out of it. To love someone even though your encounter with them has caused you pain does nothing for them and everything for you. Remember, what you give comes back! To love, knowing divine order will prevail, is the greatest gift you can give to yourself.  You must remember everyone one that comes into your life was not meant to stay.  People come into your life for a reason, season or a lifetime.  Try to always live in the moment, because what you enjoy today may not be there tomorrow.

Honor yourself and put your needs first.  You cannot give what you do not have. If you cannot give yourself the mercy of forgiveness, you will never be able to find it in your heart to forgive anyone else.

You can do this! You can learn how to stop allowing others to dishonor you and make honoring yourself your number 1 priority. You can do whatever is needed to bring you to the level of self-love and understanding that will be required to resolve any doubt or fear. You can feel bad and recover. You can fall down and get up. You can learn your lesson and put the information to use to get on purpose. You can heal.  Cheers to honoring the wonderful person that you are!

Stress-Rollin!

November 3rd, 2013

The cause of stress is always the same: You experience a situation in which you feel too overwhelmed, confused, or scared to express your true feelings.  You’re fighting for your own life with your own situations and it feel as though you are losing.  Please note the enemy comes in different circumstances, problems and ordeals.  Whatever the problem, if it seems too big to solve, you may believe you have no choice but to internalize your fear and anger.  I called this stress-rolling, it’s displaced aggression, triggered by our need to dump our anger on someone else, and someone we know won’t fight back!  So, wrong!

Unfortunately, feelings don’t want to stay hidden.  Like water held back in a dam, they are always pushing, seeking a way out.  A crack or small break will do.  The “crack” in our ability to suppress negative feelings in relationships is when our defenses are lowest, our fears smallest.  Our hidden feelings seep or burst out when we’re with people we trust or who aren’t in a position to resist us.

To eliminate a tendency to stress-roll, you first have to notice it in the other people; one sign that you are stress-rolling maybe feelings of shame or guilt. This might show up if you have rolled your negativity onto someone else.  Deep down your conscience will be whispering “I’m not being fair”.  Listen up!

The key to stress-rolling is to remember no matter how much stress we roll downhill, no matter how we justify the rolling, ultimately we still have to deal with the situation that caused our disconnect.  The only thing stress-rolling accomplishes is the creation of new enemies out of old allies (or potential allies) a classic lose-lose situation.  So the moment you get the slightest inkling that you’re stress-rolling, excuse yourself, take some deep breaths, and determine what’s really bothering you, because the core issue is often so upsetting that you have pushed it out of your consciousness, you may not be able to articulate it at first.  Cheers!

Wide Open

October 27th, 2013

Move out of the world of measurement and judgment, and watch your life get easier.  You expect no harm from change.  You simply part like a river around a rock, continuing towards the open sea.

You give your love, live your life, each and every day.  And remember to keep your hands wide open, and let the sun shine through, because you can never lose a something that never belongs to you.

Stress and anxiety evaporate as we loosen our grip.  Letting go isn’t giving up, it’s only giving up trying to change people and control what you can’t: the unseen force that strings together this thing we enjoy “life”.

Harshly judging ourselves and one another and trying to control every outcome has made women weary and harmed many of our relationships.  Let’s soften our hearts in all our interactions, especially towards people who irritate us the most.  Of course this will require strength.  Let’s start tearing down the fences and barriers that separate us so that we can embrace working together towards a common goal.

Our hardest work is going beyond our learned behavior, and healing ourselves so that we can finally stop passing our pain and dysfunction from one generation to the next.

Take time and notice how easily you judge yourself, others and each event.  Notice how tight and grim you feel.  Take a few deep breaths, relax and decide today I will start a love affair with life, making no more negative judgments about anyone or anything!  GO with the flow and feel the difference.

As we move out of the world of measurement and judgment, we trust in divine order more, and life will get easier.  We love ourselves more and find a new meaning of our relationships.  We are kinder, wiser, more appreciative and healthier too.  We expect no harm from change, from the natural flow of life, which can never direct.  Cheers to your love affair with life!
