Loving You!

June 2nd, 2013

Most women are inherently caring and nurturing.  Trouble is the one person we most often overlook when doling out all that compassion is ourselves.  How you treat yourself tells the world how you expect others to treat you.  A lack of self love can be damaging to your psyche.

Throughout the day, even when the day is hectic, there are many of opportunities to practice loving yourself.  Start by telling yourself how beautiful and wonderfully made you are!  Tell yourself how much you love you!  It’s a great way to start and end the day!  Cheers!

Our Power Within

May 26th, 2013

I am unique in my own being.  My journey has been filled with experiences that have built my resiliency, defended my character and certainly shaped me into the woman that I am today.

I am ready to embrace and accept my greatness, my brilliance, my God given possibilities and my prosperity.

I am ready to turn my valleys into my mountaintops, my obstacles into my opportunities, my test into my testimony.  I am loving the woman that I am, no matter what.

I am a masterpiece of humility, grace, peace, joy, gratitude, godliness and divinity.  My beauty is real.  My heart is all good, and my strength has been confirmed through the test of generations of great women who helped shape my life.

I will show the world how to treat me, and I am prepared to give everyone a great example how to do so.

I have turned my crawl into a walk, my walk into a run, and I’m now turning my run into my soar.  My tears and broken heart into a smile and embracing all the joy I can stand.

I cannot apologize about the gift of brilliance God has given me. I remain untamed in my quest to discover me.

I am no longer asking anyone for permission to be me.  This is your official notice.  Cheers to the power within we all have it, embrace this message.

God Bless the Mother

May 12th, 2013

God bless the woman who is not afraid to make her presence felt.

A strong woman with a gentle hug.

A busy woman with a friendly, helpful spirit.

A serious woman with a smile that brings sunshine to the rainiest day…..

God bless the woman with so many talents as there are jobs for her to do, a woman of power and passion, of pride and deep rooted dignity.

A woman who’s a role model for others to look up to every season of the year.  A woman who remains the same always, a woman you can count on, who will always be there for you.  A Mother.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Relaxation & Meditation

April 28th, 2013

If your new years resolution was to have a healthy start, you may want to explore the Indian art of Yoga. These exercises are designed to bring together the mind, body and soul by using body movement and meditation. It is based on the yogic strategy that the mind and body are in fact “One”. Some believe that if you perform yoga correctly, it can help bring the body to reach a place of harmony and heal itself. After my yoga experience for some time now I find this to be true.

Research shows that yoga helps to maintain or control anxiety, arthritis, asthma, back pain, blood pressure, carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic fatigue, depression, diabetes, epilepsy, headaches, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, and stress. Here are some of the additional health benefits of Yoga:

• Improves concentration and creativity

• Improves blood circulation

• Boosts self-esteem

• Improves muscle tone, flexibility, strength and stamina

• Reduces stress and tension

Many gyms and fitness centers offer Yoga, and you can get started by using simple online tutorials or books from your local bookstore! Just think of this as a positive start to the new and improved YOU. Relax & meditate your way to a healthier you. Cheers!

Simply My Life!

April 21st, 2013

There comes a point in your life when you realize, who matters, who never did, and who won’t anymore……. And who always will. Don’t worry about people from your past, there’s a good reason why they didn’t make it into your future. Take time to embrace how you want to live your life, it’s too precious for some of the things we allow ourselves to entertain, allow and accept.  You have one life, live it to the fullest every day.  Cheers to Life!

Define your Confidence

April 15th, 2013

When you don’t know where you’re going, it’s easy to question yourself about where you’re heading.  That’s a surefire way to derail your confidence, because most of us are linear thinkers:  We travel from A to Z, taking comfort that we have landed on g and that H is next.  The human psyche likes a map, and we often get emotionally lost if we don’t have one.

Whatever your objective, you must define it, create a plan for achieving it, and set up a timeline for its completion in small, measurable steps.  This is a process and cannot be achieved overnight.  Charting your achievements can boost self-esteem as much as attaining your ultimate goal, because, to put it simply, a success is just that “a success”, and the more of them you experience, the better you feel about yourself.  When you take deliberate measures towards a goal, you’ll have the fortitude to think and do big things.  Cheers!

How to Unhook Yourself from Negativity

April 7th, 2013

How to Unhook Yourself from Negativity

Sometimes there are people in life with whom you just don’t see eye-to-eye. Maybe they rub you the wrong way or, even worse, just don’t seem to like you and you can’t figure out why.   Be mindful that the other person’s negativity may have nothing to do with you and what you can do to improve the relationship.  No one likes to be in a negative situation, but you don’t always get along with everyone all the time.

However, if someone is being dismissive, fault-finding or disapproving and this is making you feel unworthy, insecure or lacking in self-esteem, then it may be because there’s a hook somewhere in you for that negativity to latch on too, a place where it can land that triggers all these hidden self-doubts.

How can you get unhooked? Rather than adding fire to fire by being equally as negative, there is another way.

When you extend kindness toward yourself as well as toward the person you are having a challenging time with, then an extraordinary thing begins to happen: The hook within you begins to dissolve. This means there is nowhere for the negativity to take hold or to land. By embracing yourself with kindness, you are strengthening and reinforcing feelings of self-empowerment, worthiness and personal value. Sending kindness to your adversary transforms he/she so that they are able to release the conflict. It also acts like a shield so any remaining negativity does not penetrate; it cannot land. You can learn how to do this with the loving kindness meditation, it just take time, effort and a willing spirit.  Cheers!

Inspired!

March 24th, 2013

I’m a huge believer that every one of us has the inner strength to take on life’s many challenges and to be successful.   One saying that resonates with me on today is simply “Life will not put more on us that we are not able to handle.”

Remember when you are faced with disappointment and when you become discouraged, and start thinking you’re unable to achieve a goal, remember!  You can do it. You can achieve it, think positively and make it happen!

Stay inspired, Cheers!

A Beautiful You!

March 17th, 2013

How to be more beautiful…it’s something we all wonder about at some point or other. But most of us eventually learn that expensive clothes and designer shoes are not the key to inner beauty.

The fact is, they’re not even essential for looking beautiful.

You’ve heard it all of your life, right? Well now is the time to put it into practice. The more beautiful you feel inside the more you exude beauty on the outside. Ready?

Here are a few simple steps to finding a more beautiful you.

Turn off the ringer on your phone. Turn off the TV or radio.

Start by selecting a relaxing room or area of your home. If possible, add a vase or basket of fresh cut flowers to help set the mood. Choose a comfortable seat on a chair, sofa or chaise lounge.

Just sit for a moment or two and take in the serenity of the silence. Now, lie back and relax into a comfortable position and close your eyes. Inhale deeply. Exhale slowly. Repeat.

Empty your mind of all negative thoughts about yourself. An easy method to do this is, for each negative thought that occurs to you imagine it being captured inside of a pretty pink bubble before gracefully floating away. Inhale deeply. Exhale slowly. Repeat.

As you continue to allow your negative thoughts to float away, accentuate your positive thoughts. Imagine a tiny bud slowly beginning to blossom into a beautiful flower inside of you. A powerful red, a sensuous blue, or maybe a mixture of exciting neon colors…the specific details are all up to you. Embrace your beauty!

Imagine your flower beginning to exude the most beautiful scent! Relax as the scent slowly begins to fill your entire body from head to toe.

Now inhale the fragrance of your inner flower. Exhale and visualize yourself perfuming the world with your winsome scent and spreading you beauty all around.

Next, visualize yourself sitting quietly inside of your freshly blossomed flower. Imagine your inner diva bathed in the beautiful color and scent of your flower. Take notice and admire the positive and beautiful qualities of your tiny inner-twin.

Create your own mantra or, use this one. “I am radiantly beautiful, vibrantly healthy and filled with divine light & love and I love myself.” Repeat as much as you need to.  But, you must believe this.

Relax for a few moments in the contentment and happiness you’ve just created within yourself.

Throughout the day, repeat your mantra and recall the scent and color of your personal flower. Carry the feeling with you throughout the day. As you go about your day, you’ll be amazed at how many people will comment or compliment you on how beautiful you are.

Repeat this process several times a week and you should ignite in your beauty as only you can.  Cheers!

Loving your body!

March 11th, 2013

You know the one God blessed you with!  Life is too short; why spend time hating on your body?  Learn to accept your body and embrace yourself from head to toe.  Some reasons are: Your body is unique; No one else has the same one.  No matter how bad you treat it, it’s willing to give you another chance. It’s expressive, in telling you how it feels (pay attention) and telling others how you feel about it as well. Because somebody out there (or somebody’s) admires and adores it.  You’ll regret not loving your body and taking care of it later.  Take time and love yourself, all of you!!!  Remember confidence is pretty sexy.

Make a commitment to take care of your body and practice self-acceptance.  Remember you only get one.  Cheers to the beautiful person you are!
